Fortanix Debuts Channel Partner Program for Cloud Data Protection

Runtime encryption provider Fortanix has announced the launch of its channel partner program, broadening the reach of Fortanix’s Self-Defending Key Management Service (SDKMS).

Fortanix offers data protection in hybrid environments and multiple clouds; and to that end, it has released a new channel-friendly SDKMS appliance, the FX2200 appliance node, which can be paired with Fortanix’s hardware security module (HSM)-as-a-service offering.

“The move to the cloud presents unique encryption and key management challenges for our customers,” said Jasper Rose, vice president of cybersecurity at Connect IT, an initial Fortanix channel partner. “Working with Fortanix, we can rapidly and seamlessly enable our customers to adopt public, hybrid or multiple clouds for their applications, while retaining strict control over their data protection policies and encryption keys. Fortanix’s program for channel partners is particularly beneficial for Connect IT, because it aligns well with our focus of providing innovative security solutions and expertise to our clients.”

The Fortanix Partner Program is flat in structure, with contract options for resellers and managed service providers (MSPs), including a referral program. The Fortanix program is margin-based, and offers deal registration and protection including expansionary and renewal incumbency. It also includes joint marketing, comprehensive sales enablement, hands-on product training and more.

“Fortanix provides strong incentives with flexible consumption models that give us a variety of services and offerings options to best address the diverse needs of our growing client base,” said Martin Vargas, director of sales at Axcelerate Networks, and another initial Fortanix channel partner. “Fortanix’s SDKMS solution makes HSM and secure key management more accessible than ever for growing number of use cases across private, hybrid and multiple clouds, where in the past HSM use was limited.”

“To keep up with increasing global customer demand, Fortanix is now aggressively focusing on its channel program to help us scale our go-to-market efforts,” added Ambuj Kumar, Fortanix CEO and co-founder. “Our channel partners can accelerate the adoption and reach of our SDKMS solution that will democratize secure key management and cryptography more broadly than before. This program allows partners to offer value add services and solutions instead of the usual break-fix maintenance found with traditional HSM solutions.”
