Gartner Lists Axonius as “Sample Vendor” for CAASM

Cybersecurity asset management firm Axonius was identified as a “Sample Vendor” for Cyber Asset Attack Surface Management (CAASM), per Gartner’s Hype Cycle for Network Security. For the purposes of the report, Gartner defines CAASM – which has just one percent market penetration – as an “emerging technology” for allowing security teams to “solve persistent asset visibility and vulnerability challenges” by viewing internal and external assets through tool API integration, querying against consolidated data, identifying security control vulnerabilities and gaps and remediating issues.

Per the report, drivers include:

  • Need for asset visibility
  • Audit compliance and reporting
  • Improved security posture
  • Consolidated asset views

Axonius offers a streamlined, comprehensive approach to managing asset visibility, with its Cybersecurity Asset Management platform connecting nearly 350 security and technology products to support an “always up-to-date” and unified view of assets.

“The introduction of CAASM as a category validates what we’ve heard from customers and underscores the massive demand that has driven our explosive growth,” said Dean Sysman, co-founder and CEO, Axonius. “Companies of all sizes and across all industries face the same growing problem—despite having a host of tools and tech, the increasing complexity of IT environments makes it impossible to account for all assets with manual processes alone.”

In 2020, Axonius was also listed as a Gartner “Cool Vendor” for Security Operations and Threat Intelligence.
