Hibernia Expands CDN Service to Milan

Hibernia Networks has established a point of presence (PoP) in Milan, Italy, expanding its content delivery network (CDN) platform in Europe.

This PoP is the company’s first in Italy and will facilitate enhanced end-user experience for accessing video-on-demand content, file downloads and live streaming services.

Hibernia Networks’ new Milan presence increases its reach to 27 major cities globally including 13 in Europe, and improves its ability to scale to meet growing customer demand from carriers and content providers. Hibernia Networks’ CDN is comprised of a custom and purpose-built software solution, leveraging the company’s owned and operated fiber optic infrastructure and global IP backbone, delivering performance for live streaming, video-on-demand, caching and other CDN applications.

“Hibernia Networks is absolutely committed to the continued expansion and development of our content services offering. Establishing a local presence in Italy is an important step to more effectively serving this growing market for CDN applications,” said Martin Ford, vice president of sales at Hibernia Networks. “Online gaming and software distributors, video-on-demand and live-streaming companies, and enterprises delivering services in Italy will benefit from the flexibility and performance capability of Hibernia Networks’ CDN platform.”

The CDN PoP in Milan is the latest addition to Hibernia Networks’ continuous expansion of its global CDN footprint.  Earlier this year, the company completed PoP deployments in Dublin, Prague, Brussels and Toronto.
