Impact Telecom to Merge with TNCI

TNCI Operating Company and Impact Telecom have agreed to merge companies. The joint organization, under the brand Impact Telecom, will provide cloud and voice telecommunications solutions to businesses and consumers in the United States and Canada, and to wholesale carrier customers around the world.

“There are compelling advantages to joining forces, such as combining Impact’s nationwide Feature Group D network with TNCI’s access network, creating an infrastructure to support and grow our unified communications platform, including cloud-based voice, SMS, and toll-free, local and long-distance services,” said president and CEO of Impact Telecom, Bob Beaty. “Both organizations have deep experience in seamlessly integrating businesses along with track records of growth through strategic initiatives. I’m excited about the strength of the new organization.”

TNCI CEO Laura Thomas will become chairman of the board of directors of the new company, and Beaty will continue as CEO.

“Together, TNCI and Impact Telecom will improve our competitiveness through increased operational efficiency, more robust service offerings and our strong customer commitment,” Thomas said. “The new Impact Telecom will invest in platforms which provide our business customers more ways to connect and collaborate with their own customers and partners.”

The transaction is expected to close in January 2016 and is subject to approvals from the FCC and applicable state regulatory authorities.
