Level 3, XO Lead Competitive Ethernet Services Market

Level 3, XO, Cogent and Zayo are the top competitive providers selling carrier Ethernet services in the U.S., according to Vertical Systems Group’s latest research.

These companies have attained a rank on Vertical’s 2015 U.S. Competitive Provider Ethernet LEADERBOARD based on billable U.S. retail port share for the competitive provider segment as of year-end 2015.

Each of these four companies has also attained either a LEADERBOARD rank or a Challenge Tier citation on the 2015 U.S. Carrier Ethernet LEADERBOARD. Competitive Provider is one of three U.S. provider segments, along with the Incumbent Carrier and Cable MSO segments.

“The Competitive Provider segment is the most diverse in the U.S. Ethernet connectivity ecosystem, with more than 70 providers competing with incumbent carriers and cable MSOs for business customers,” said Rick Malone, principal at Vertical Systems Group. “Providers in this segment offer Ethernet service connectivity ranging from multiple copper access options to fiber technologies that deliver speeds to 100Gbps.”
