MegaPath Corp. has debuted a suite of asymmetrical business Ethernet services with speeds up to 50X10 Mbps, with availability in 517 central offices (COs). Full coverage in 700 COs is targeted by the end of the year.
While similar to cable by delivering asymmetrical bandwidth, these Ethernet services offer perks like service level agreements (SLAs), dedicated instead of shared bandwidth, Quality of Service (QoS) to support latency-sensitive applications like voice and video, nationwide availability and what MegaPath calls a reliable site prequalification methodology. The portfolio is available via the company’s channel partners.
“The addition of asymmetrical speeds to MegaPath’s expansive nationwide Ethernet service portfolio will give SMBs, distributed enterprises and MegaPath’s wholesale partners affordable business-class bandwidth alternatives backed by business-class service level agreements,” said Brian Washburn, research director of network services at Current Analysis.
