Mitel, which offers cloud and premises-based unified communications software solutions via the channel, has announced that Joe Vitalone will be joining the company as executive vice president of sales for the Americas. Vitalone will have executive responsibility for growing Mitel sales revenues in North America, the Caribbean and Latin America, and building strategic relationships within the regions’ channel communities.

An industry veteran with more than 25 years of sales and business development experience in telecom and technology industries, Vitalone joins Mitel from Shoretel, where he most recently held the position of vice president of channel management. Vitalone also has held senior sales management positions at LifeSize Communications, Polycom and CoVi Technologies, as well as PictureTel, AT&T Wireless and a previous role at Mitel.
