Cloud communications provider Momentum has announced the acquisition of the assets of Twist Networks, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Communications Technologies Inc. (CTI).
Twist Networks has been a Momentum wholesale VoIP partner since 2010. In connection with this acquisition, a retail value-added reseller (VAR) agreement was developed between Momentum and CTI, a telecom, data, collaboration and connectivity solutions provider.
“Pairing Momentum’s award-winning cloud PBX product line with CTI’s proven track record of selling and implementing advanced communications solutions to businesses in the St. Louis region builds a foundation for success and creates a tremendous opportunity for growth,” said Momentum CFO Matthew Conroy.
“Joining forces with Momentum Telecom will help us grow our SIP trunk and hosted business at an accelerated rate. We are looking forward to really opening up the St. Louis and greater Midwest market area for Momentum Telecom,” added CTI president Robert Hymes.
Momentum has been focused on expanding in a number of areas including announcing the acquisition of CommPartners in 2010, the launch of a retail line of services in 2011 and an expanded partner program in 2012. Additionally, Momentum recently welcomed new members to its executive team and board — chair Liz Pharo, vice president of sales Jamie Minner and Conroy.
The company said that during the past 12 months, Momentum’s retail VAR team has nearly tripled in size and the indirect channel program now has established regional sales and engineering teams in some of the top business markets nationwide, including Boston, Denver, Los Angeles/Orange County, Nashville, Dallas, Chicago, Miami and Birmingham.
