PlanetOne Takes Partners Out to the Ballpark

Just in time for Major League Baseball’s Opening Day, Scottsdale-based master agency PlanetOne Communications hosted its top sales partners and preferred vendors at the MLB’s Cactus League Spring Training in Phoenix, Ariz. in late March, as a thank you for knocking sales out of the park all year long.

PlanetOne brought partners who logged than $15,000 in sales for 2013 to Arizona at the height of Spring Training to take in the Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox as they prepped for the upcoming 2014 season. The outings gave partners the opportunity to meet the broader PlanetOne team, network with preferred vendors and enjoy the Valley of the Sun and one of sports’ top experiences.

“There are 3 million people who come to the Valley every spring to take in Spring Training and to play golf and to escape winter back home,” said PlanetOne CEO Ted Schuman. “This is a marquee attraction, and we wanted to give our partners the opportunity to experience the best of what our town has to offer during the season.”

Partners were treated to premier seats for the D-Backs vs. Cubs, a night at one of Scottsdale’s hot spots for dinner and a party deck experience reminiscent of Wrigley Field for the Cubs vs. White Sox at the Cubs’ brand-new Spring Training facility.

“Baseball fan or not, this event is a perfect way to honor our partners’ success by bringing them to our hometown,” said Lauren Shapiro, president at PlanetOne. “Our partners led us to record growth in 2013, and we’re on track for another record breaking year in 2014. Highlighting that achievement and ongoing hard work with a bit of sunshine, the appreciation of the full PlanetOne team and lots of relaxation and celebration sums up the heart and soul of our channel partner program.”

The trip was part of PlanetOne’s incentive program, the second of three rewards for top sales in 2013. The program kicked off with a trip to the Phoenix Open earlier in the year, and later in 2014, the agency will honor its “High Rollers” with a five-star luxury tour of Napa Valley, including private wine tastings, limousine service and culinary experiences.

The Spring Training events and the High Roller grand prize are new elements of the rewards structure for PlanetOne, which will announce the incentive program for this year soon, it said.
