ProfitBricks Adds Architecture Choices to IaaS Service

ProfitBricks has strengthened its infrastructure as a service (IaaS) platform by adding ultra-high speed solid-state drive (SSD) and Intel Xeon Processor for provisioning in all data centers– additional options for channel partners looking to quickly build and deploy cloud networks for customers.

With the addition of Intel Xeon technology in all virtual servers, ProfitBricks has also created an exclusive “Core Technology Choice” capability, which allows partners to choose between AMD Opteron processors and Intel processors within the same virtual data center.

“We are strategically focused on integrating the latest technology in order to provide the best-performing and easiest to use cloud infrastructure in the market,” said Achim Weiss, CEO at ProfitBricks. “With the addition of Intel processors and SSD, ProfitBricks is offering a complete set of technology tools so users can evolve their cloud business model.”

With the addition of ultra-high speed SSD, ProfitBricks now offers speeds up to 650% faster than hard disk drive (HDD) storage. SSD, along with all infrastructure components, is integrated into the ProfitBricks graphical administrative interface as well as its API.

Meanwhile Xeon processors offer users a powerful environment because each Intel core is assigned a hyper-thread, which the operating system treats like a second core. Depending on the application, Xeon processor cores can perform more than twice as fast as AMD cores.
