Tata Communications and PCCW Global have signed a high-definition videoconferencing (HDVC) interconnect agreement. The two will interconnect their respective IPX and MPLS networks via a network-to-network Interface (NNI) to reach global enterprise customers.
The bilateral agreement builds on the existing relationship between Tata Communications and PCCW Global, which began with the companies working together to deliver voice over IPX in 2013. The addition of the MPLS NNI interconnection extends this relationship with expanded network capabilities for data and video, thereby allowing both companies to access each other’s fiber-based MPLS networks.
”There is a clear shift towards an open ecosystem between telecom providers in the Asia-Pacific region,” said Rangu Salgame, CEO for the growth ventures and service provider group at Tata Communications. “Providers are now aligning and interconnecting their networks so traffic can travel between their networks seamlessly and at the highest possible quality. For service providers and end-users, this means better service, better technology and unprecedented reach. This partnership creates new access routes for enterprise customers making video a daily business tool, boosting the pace of business across the region.”
