TD SYNNEX acquired Apptium, a software development company and cloud commerce platform provider. This transaction reflects ongoing investment in TD SYNNEX technology solutions orchestration strategy, and is expected to expand the company’s depth and breadth of cloud and everything-as-a-service offerings.
Prior to the merger, Apptium served as a key partner and enabler for TD SYNNEX’s StreamOne platform, the foundation of its digital business orchestration strategy that puts ecosystem partners in control through data-driven decisions, customer insight and solutions aggregation. The combination of technology and industry and technical expertise should advance the platform’s development.
The combined entity unites two companies with expertise in the technology, communications, services and managed solutions industries. Its value proposition spans digital service innovation, delivery, revenue management and support.
The acquisition also will improve how TD SYNNEX accelerates solutions to help vendors and customers better serve stakeholders, and allow Apptium to serve new and existing customers.
“Rick Kapani and his team have built a transformative platform that has already delivered a meaningful impact underpinning our own solutions orchestration capabilities,” said TD SYNNEX CEO, Patrick Zammit. “Bringing this technical expertise to TD SYNNEX allows us to execute on our strategy and continue investments in serving our customers as well as the incoming customers of Apptium. Through this platform we will strengthen support for our ecosystem partners and expand our addressable market over the next several years.”
Apptium’s platform-as-a-service offering lets companies adopt and implement marketplaces, emphasizing configuration over code to speed implementation, streamline management and accelerate time-to-revenue. Companies can deliver e-commerce and cloud-managed services through an omnichannel approach. Apptium’s disruptive model harmonizes disparate subscription and transaction types, while its API-driven approach extends real-time and near-real-time data accuracy, also introducing a single pane-of-glass to support seamless transactions across major hyperscalers.
“This transaction is fantastic news both for the vendors and customers of TD SYNNEX and those of Apptium, as it will drive greater value in our platform and depth of offerings,” said Rick Kapani, the founder and CEO of Apptium. “Moreover, it is a testament to our team members’ hard work and dedication to making Apptium into the businesses it is today.”
As a wholly-owned subsidiary, Apptium will function as a separate organization. Kapani will continue to lead the business as GM and SVP, reporting to TD SYNNEX chief strategy and technology officer, Sergio Farache. Apptium will also continue serving its existing customers via the Apptium Cloud Commerce platform.
