Tech Data and dinCloud, have signed a distribution agreement to provide dinCloud’s cloud-based solutions to Tech Data’s channel of solution providers through the company’s TDCloud business unit.
The agreement includes dinCloud’s hosted virtual desktops (HVDs), hosted virtual servers (HVSs) and the dinStorage S3 cloud storage platform.
“For businesses seeking to leverage secure cloud infrastructure and business provisioning, we are excited to offer dinCloud solutions to our channel of resellers,” said Stacy Nethercoat, vice president of product marketing, software and cloud services at Tech Data. “Through the agreement, solution providers can now leverage dinCloud’s suite of cloud services and solutions, tailored to fit a range of business models resulting in cost reduction, enhanced security, control and productivity. dinCloud solutions are a great addition to the comprehensive list of cloud offerings available in the Tech Data Solutions Store.”
dinCloud’s HVDs—both dinHVD and webHVD—are run from a private virtual data center, allowing end users to login from a laptop, desktop, iPad or Android device and have access to the same workspace regardless of what device they use. webHVD is a clientless Web application extension, powered by HTML5 in Google’s Chrome browser that runs on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux or Chromebook endpoints for turnkey desktops. The desktop as a service (DaaS) offering includes a virtual private data center to manage user authentication, software-defined networking, virtualized storage and compute power.
In addition, Tech Data will offer dinServer, hosted virtual servers that provide real-time provisioning of Linux and Window Servers and synchronization control. Customers receive a virtual private data center with their own firewall, private virtual servers, network and storage.
The dinStorage S3 cloud storage solution meanwhile collaborates with an array of third-party products such as CA and Symantec, including capabilities that can replicate data across multiple data centers.
“dinCloud has enabled VARs of all sizes to rapidly go to market with cloud services, and we are excited to partner with Tech Data with its complementary capabilities and reach in the IT channel,” said David Graffia, vice president of sales at dinCloud. “We are proud to be part of Tech Data’sTDCloud portfolio. Businesses are looking to their trusted advisers to provide solutions that are easy to implement and affordable to consume. All of our solutions featured in Tech Data’s Solution Store offer improved security, operational efficiency and business continuity.”
