Telesystem, a provider of nationwide managed technology solutions, has promoted Ken Mercer (pictured) and Ron McNab to key leadership positions as the organization scales its sales team and focuses on customer loyalty efforts.
Mercer, a former Senior Vice President at TBI, and most recently Telesystem’s Manager of Channel Strategy, has been tapped to lead the Customer Retention and Account Success team. In the newly created position of Manager, Customer Success, Mercer primarily will be responsible for working to transition customers from legacy products into emerging technologies and maximize Telesystem’s relationships with existing SME and enterprise customers.
Mercer also will lead a team focused on Telesystem’s on-net fiber markets, where the organization aims to improve the market penetration of products beyond the internet and transport.
“My years of experience on the broker side of the channel allow me to teach the team how to really drive home our competitive advantages, and to teach our partners how to uncover additional opportunities that suit the Telesystem product suite,” Mercer said. “Being part of the Telesystem team for almost two years, I have a great appreciation for the culture and the core value we provide to the market, and I can work with our team to deliver that message in an effective way, both in the channel and to the marketplace.”
McNab, a technology veteran with more than 20 years of senior-level leadership experience, will take on the new role of Manager, Channel Sales – West, where he will lead Telesystem’s Regional and National Channel Managers in the Western United States.
Regional Channel Managers are territory-based with a focus on selling partners in those geographic areas, while National Channel Managers are assigned to Telesystem’s highest producing brokers (formerly known as master agents).
The addition of McNab’s role will give an added layer of support for partners west of the Mississippi River and the ability for Telesystem to scale its western sales team.
“I joined Telesystem last year with the goal to contribute to the team using my years of experience and the strong relationships that I’ve built over time,” said McNab. “Leadership is in my DNA and to have such a key role in developing our western sales team is incredibly exciting. We are just scratching the surface of the tremendous value we can bring to the channel.”
Telesystem has grown its national presence rapidly since acquiring Line Systems Inc (LSI) in 2014. It now has a robust nationwide network with customers in 43 states.
“The channel is a vital part of our organic growth strategy and having Ken and Ron as members of our leadership team makes us so much more powerful,” said Telesystem Chief Revenue Officer, Bruce Wirt. “The years of experience and the relationships they’ve cemented serve as an accelerator to our growing national brand awareness, and the bond we seek with our channel partners.”
