tw telecom is expanding its existing footprint in Los Angeles, adding business Ethernet and intelligent network capabilities for organizations in Century City, El Segundo, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Westwood and other areas of West Los Angeles.
This expansion is geared to meet the demands of the commercial real estate, healthcare, financial, legal, higher education, government, technology and hospitality industries. tw telecom has seen a four-fold increase in the number of end-user buildings directly connected to tw telecom’s networks in the greater Los Angeles area over the past five years.
“The introduction of several new products, access to a wide range of real estate commercial building portfolios, new building construction and customer demand has helped fuel new demand for our network solutions,” said Dan Cross, vice president and general manager for tw telecom Los Angeles. “tw telecom’s network investment from Santa Monica, into West L.A. and down into the southern communities of L.A. county, will help enterprises receive the benefits of our industry-leading network solutions, including dynamic capacity, the industry’s first real-time automatic bandwidth on demand capability.”
The Los Angeles expansion follows a recent announcement by the company to increase its network footprint across nine cities in Orange County. Both efforts are part of a national multi-market effort by the company to expand its metro fiber footprint across the country. As part of this effort, tw telecom has entered, or is in the process of entering, into five new high-demand markets, while accelerating the density of its metro-fiber footprint in more than a third of its existing markets through 2014. The company also intends to expand its sales force, including sales and support employees as well as additional operations personnel to support the project.
