VEON Ltd., a provider of connectivity and internet services, announced that Andrey Pyatakhin has been appointed as the CEO of Beeline Kyrgyzstan.
Andrey joined VEON Group in 2001 and has served in various capacities for more than 20 years, including as CEO of Beeline Georgia, CEO of Beeline Armenia and most recently as Beeline Russia’s Vice President for the Southern Region.
In his new role, Pyatakhin will focus on strengthening Beeline Kyrgyzstan’s growth trajectory, following the stabilization achieved over 2021.
“Kyrgyzstan is one of our strongest markets in terms of 4G penetration, allowing us to offer innovative services to our customers. With the steps that we have taken in 2021, including our recent spectrum acquisition, we have the opportunity to create a similar growth story at Beeline Kyrgyzstan as in the other VEON Group countries” said Kaan Terzioglu, VEON’s CEO. “With his extensive experience and proven skills, I am confident that Andrey will be a great leader to the Beeline Kyrgyzstan team on this journey. In other news, VEON announced it has acquired IBS DataFort, a cloud IT infrastructure provider. The acquisition was made by VEON’s VimpelCom Russian subsidiary that runs the Beeline mobile operator brand and IBS DataFort will be integrated into Beeline’s BeeCLOUD business unit.
IBS DataFort is a provider of IT and security services and is one of the largest and fastest growing cloud computing companies in Russia. The company has been in the information technology market since 2001 and offers managed private, public and hybrid cloud services to address a range of business needs.
The acquisition will enable VEON’s Beeline mobile operator in Russia to expand its portfolio of cloud services for business customers while also becoming a leading player in the market.
