Versa Networks, which provides AI/ML-powered unified SASE, announced enhancements to the AI capabilities available in the Versa unified SASE platform. This includes powerful features designed to improve threat detection, accelerate remediation and bolster data protection. These enhancements allow security teams to more effectively manage threats and improve security posture.
VersaAI offers an integrated set of AI technologies built into the Versa unified SASE platform to deliver insight for threat protection, data protection and operations. It taps into a data lake with telemetry from across the network and security infrastructure, from the WAN edge to cloud, campus, remote locations, users and devices, extracting AI/ML insight that is seamlessly applied across the Versa product suite. New capabilities supporting advanced security use cases include:
- GenAI Firewall expands on existing capabilities to limit shadow use cases of GenAI thereby reducing the new GenAI attack surface and emerging risks. It manages, monitors and reports how organizations consume GenAI. With Versa GenAI Firewall, organizations can assess risks of apps, control access and prevent unauthorized data movement.
- Added relationship mapping to UEBA (user entity behavior analytics) that uses social graphs to detect anomalies, determine the blast radius and find the root causes of security incidents. Security teams can visualize risk and accelerate forensic analysis to drill down into the relationships between users, devices and apps/resources. Security governance teams can leverage this functionality to adapt security policies, access controls and manage compliance requirements.
- Explainable AI provides reasoning behind anomaly detections without using logs, making it easier for operations teams to understand AI-driven analysis and more effectively respond.
- MITRE ATT&CK TTPs (tactics, techniques, procedures) added to Versa UEBA improves the fidelity of threat detections and rapid incident response with detailed insights into adversary behaviors from an expanded library of attack behaviors.
“Our advantage lies in the extensive unified security and networking telemetry generated by our platform over our vast SASE deployment base,” said Kumar Mehta, Versa’s founder and chief development officer. “This extensive telemetry data fine tunes AI models to deliver highly accurate insights to bolster security posture in real time and enable human operators to fight AI with AI.”
