Wilcon Completes Acquisitions Integration, Launches New Brand Identity

Wilcon has successfully completed its integration of three recennt acquisitions: Wilshire Connection, a downtown Los Angeles fiber optic network operator, IX2, a data center company located at the One Wilshire Building, and Freedom Dark Fiber Networks, a regional dark fiber provider in Southern California. Effective immediately, all companies will operate under the Wilcon name.

With the completion of the integration, Wilcon has also launched a new brand identity and website. “The new identity reflects the company’s unity and growth under the Wilcon brand and the site provides insight into the company’s new and growing services and customer relationships,” the company said.

The move positions Wilcon as one of the largest fiber-optic networks in the region, with network reach across Southern California and throughout downtown Los Angeles’ Internet and telecommunications corridor.

“California is one of the fastest-growing and most strategic technology markets in the world,” said Fedor Smith, president of research firm Atlantic-ACM. “As data connectivity requirements grow exponentially, businesses will seek service providers that are aggressively introducing new capabilities to meet their needs.  The integration of data center facilities with fiber-optic network infrastructure will be a critical differentiator in the marketplace.”

“Combining these three successful companies establishes our base for expansion in the California telecommunications landscape,” added Jon DeLuca, CEO of Wilcon. “Individually these businesses were key participants in the regional communications marketplace.  Together, we now offer our customers the most dense fiber and interconnection infrastructure in downtown Los Angeles and vast network reach throughout southern California to deliver ultra-broadband performance and cost efficiencies for businesses, wireless carriers and other communications service providers.”

Wilcon’s network spans 3,000 route miles from Bakersfield to San Diego, with dense metro fiber footprints in Los Angeles, Burbank, Pasadena, Santa Monica, Woodland Hills, Thousand Oaks, Santa Clarita, Long Beach, Irvine, Riverside, Carlsbad and San Diego. Wilcon’s solutions range from dark fiber to private optical networks, Ethernet and IP services, wavelengths and data center infrastructure, including space, power and cross-connects.

“Wilcon’s combined network offers unique routes and diverse access throughout the region to provide customers with high-capacity services that ensure optimal performance for their mission-critical data traffic and applications.  Wilcon is free of the limitations of legacy networks, giving us the greatest flexibility to continue to expand to meet customer needs and to offer the most efficient services in the market,” said Richard Coyle, senior vice president of network operations.

“We listen to our customers and will continue to grow our network and data center offerings throughout SoCal,” ssaid Reginald Scales, SVP of Sales and Marketing. “We are also building the Wilcon team to open new market opportunities and expand our service capabilities. The common vision of our company is to put the customer first. The success of our customers is our success, and we bring an entrepreneurial spirit to exceeding our customers’ expectations.”
