With malware infections on the rise and security top-of-mind for most businesses, Windstream has added Endpoint Security Protection by McAfee to its arsenal of value-adds for its channel partners and small- and medium-sized business (SMB) end users.
One of the obstacles for SMBs when implementing a security strategy is a lack of IT resources to make it happen. Windstream is tackling part of that issue with an all-in-one approach that eliminates the need for multiple security products. The offering can detect and block viruses, spyware, spam, phishing attempts and hacker attacks, by filtering and quarantining threats carried by email, before a message with a malicious payload can reach the SMB network.
“Businesses today face security threats that continuously increase in frequency and sophistication, so it is essential to implement thorough desktop security solutions,” said Don Perkins, senior vice president of Business Marketing for Windstream. “Endpoint Security Protection provides our small and medium-sized business customers with all-around protection, reducing the need for additional security management software, hardware, support and even dedicated IT staff.”
A cloud-based management portal is included, which allows customers to customize protection by blocking Web sites and e-mails that are potentially dangerous or cause employees to be less productive. It also features automatic updates and upgrades.
Windstream is including the solution in its Small Business bundles. “The focus is to help small business owners and operators protect their critical data with a solution that is comprehensive, automatic, easy to use and affordable,” the company said.
