XO Communications, in conjunction with BAE Systems and Fortinet, is launching a managed premises-based solution called XO Site Security.
The product shields business networks from a wide range of cybersecurity threats and enables XO customers to secure their network connections when using XO dedicated Internet access, MPLS IP-VPN or broadband Internet services.
XO recently announced the release of a commissioned study conducted by IDG that revealed that 56 percent of businesses worry about cloud data security. Security gaps put companies at risk of data breaches that can cost organizations millions of dollars.
XO Site Security integrates firewall and threat intelligence technology from Fortinet and managed security services from BAE Systems. XO customers have the option of using their existing firewall technology from any manufacturer or leasing new Fortinet firewall equipment. Businesses can also deploy XO Site Security at network locations that are leveraging non-XO network connections.
“Businesses constantly face cybersecurity threats,” said Jake Heinz, senior vice president of marketing and product at XO Communications. “Our new site security service builds on our existing work with Fortinet and BAE and is aimed at helping businesses protect their hybrid networks. In addition, we believe customers will benefit from the flexibility we have engineered into this offering: they can leverage existing or lease new firewall equipment while using XO as well as non-XO network connections.”
“Businesses are continuing to increase their focus on enhancing their network security,” said Chad Whalen, vice president of strategic alliances and cloud at Fortinet. “We are pleased to be working with partners like XO and BAE to help provide a higher level of network protection as the popularity of hybrid networks continue to rise.”
