ZyXEL Communications has announced the ZyXEL One Network (ZON), an integrated network device setup and maintenance application available to SMBs and channel partners as a means to centrally address, configure, reset, reboot and update firmware on all ZyXEL networked devices.
“With ZON, ZyXEL has created an integrated suite of customer-focused management applications to complement our broad and ever expanding business networking product lines,” said Steven Joe, executive vice president for channel business for Americas at ZyXEL. “ZON affords businesses and channel partners enhanced visibility and easy access to all ZyXEL device networking components, saving them valuable time and money.”
ZON is intended to cover the full range of ZyXEL business products including security gateways and firewalls, switches and wireless access points (AP). It includes an AP Configurator (ZAC) utility and the ZyXEL Smart Connect.
The configurator enables centralized configuration of Wi-Fi AP settings, including SSID, security and access management. Smart Connect meanwhile allows different ZyXEL devices to share configuration information. It enables auto-discovery of neighboring devices, remote viewing of their management interfaces, as well as power cycling and remote factory reset. Smart Connect, when used with ZyXEL’s range of PoE switches, will provide an instant reading of power draw per port, and allows powered devices to be reset to factory settings.
In addition to ZyXEL devices, the Smart Connect feature also works with Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP)-enabled devices from any manufacturer.
