nexVortex, ADTRAN Team for Managed SIP

nexVortex has teamed up with ADTRAN to answer the needs of medium and large enterprises which have historically been wary of using SIP trunking over the public Internet as a replacement for PRIs.

That reluctance has primarily been due to the inability to control voice quality over that network. nexVortex has launched its managed SIP (mSIP) service, which utilizes ADTRAN equipment on the customer premise connected to nexVortex’s nationwide (geo-redundant) private IP/MPLS backbone to guarantee quality of service (QoS) for VoIP calls to and from the public switched telephone network.

nexVortex has wrapped the solution around a set of voice-quality measurement, monitoring and reporting tools to measure QoS at each segment of the call path. ADTRAN’s customer premise equipment serves as a demarcation point where voice calls are marked and measured for QoS before being handed off to the network for routing. Call quality can be measured and network issues can be pinpointed for definitive trouble shooting.

“SIP trunking is our business,” said Wes Rogers, founder and COO of nexVortex. “We have been delivering SIP trunking as a commercial service for over 10 years and understand that different businesses have different needs. While SIP trunking over the public internet is perfectly fine for many companies, others want a SIP solution with specific guarantees. With that in mind, we made significant investment in our network infrastructure, tools and software to deliver an mSIP Trunking Service so that business owners can confidently replace aging, expensive and soon to be retired PRIs.”
