ADTRAN has announced a major upgrade to its virtual wireless LAN, including: always-on, anywhere access; a graphical user interface (GUI) built on HTML5 allowing vWLAN to be accessed and managed from any Windows, iOS or Android-based smartphone or tablet; and customizable dashboards that report real-time and historical views into the health of the network.
The hope is for managed service providers and resellers to more easily launch and manage cloud Wi-Fi services.

The vWLAN adds real-time status dashboards that allow cloud Wi-Fi providers to monitor the health of their customer’s wireless environment in real time. Providers can also create multiple dashboards and customize reports that provide perspectives on different areas of the network, its current state, trends and information. In addition, the reports are also dynamic, allowing users to drill down for more detailed information. It’s then easier to optimize the performance of the cloud Wi-Fi service network.
