Avnet Technology Solutions has announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Nutanix, the converged infrastructure company, to provide its channel partners in the U.S. and Canada with the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform.
The platform allows partners to design and develop converged compute and storage infrastructure for virtualized data centers.

With Avnet’s supporting resources, partners can use Nutanix’s technology and web-scale infrastructure to solve their customers’ business challenges related to data center virtualization, disaster recovery, desktop virtualization, and testing and development.”
Avnet serves as a single-source distributor for building and deploying data center solutions using technologies from suppliers like VMware. The Nutanix platform will complement the portfolio by offering partners a converged infrastructure option that consolidates the server and storage tiers into a single, integrated appliance.

Avnet can also help partners to design, integrate and assemble computing appliances based on the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform through its converged infrastructure team at the Avnet Global Solutions Center in Chandler, Ariz.
