Cbeyond TotalCloud Phone System Named SMB Service of the Year

Cbeyond’s TotalCloud Phone System has been named a small or medium-sized business (SMB) Service of the Year (Bronze Winner) in the 2013 Best in Biz Awards, an
independent business awards program judged by members of the press and industry analysts.

Cbeyond’s TotalCloud Phone System (TCPS), available via channel partners, is a cloud-based communications service. Designed specifically for single or multi-location businesses with office, remote and mobile workers, TotalCloud Phone System can route and prioritize voice traffic via Cbeyond’s carrier-class private IP-network. The hosted phone system technology also reduces or eliminates initial equipment expenditures and the ongoing labor and support costs of maintaining a traditional, on-premise phone system.

In August 2013, Cbeyond introduced Communications on the Go (COMGO), which bundles several Cbeyond products: TotalCloud Phone System, Cbeyond Communicator (for desktop and mobile), Cbeyond Mobile, and Cbeyond’s Managed Network Service. The COMGO solution extends the TotalCloud Phone System to smartphones and provides customers with an integrated solution for mobile workers at a  bundled price.

The third annual Best in Biz Awards program, focusing on companies based or operating in North America, was the most competitive in its history, with the highest number of awards submissions to date. More than 500 entries were received this year, from a wide array of public and private companies of all sizes and from a variety of industries and geographic regions in the U.S. and Canada.

“Cbeyond’s TotalCloud Phone System addresses the main obstacles SMBs encounter daily – dealing with the complexity of communications and the need to easily and cost-effectively scale their technology infrastructure in line with business needs,” said Bill Thomson, senior director of product management for cloud services at Cbeyond. “We’re excited to be recognized for the innovation TotalCloud Phone System continues to deliver since the service was first launched in December 2012.”

Winners of Best in Biz Awards 2013 were determined by an independent panel of 51 judges from top-tier news, business and technology publications, including Bloomberg Businessweek, Chicago Tribune, Computerworld, CRN, Dallas Morning News, Miami Herald, Network World, Reuters, San Francisco Chronicle, San Jose Mercury News and USA Today.
