CompTIA Launches e-Learning IT Channel Training

Starting next week, CompTIA is officially opening up its e-learning options for education and training programs for the IT channel.

CompTIA Executive Certificate programs in cloud computing, mobile technologies and IT security will now be available in e-learning modules, with additional courses to be added in the coming months.

“We’ve created these interactive e-learning courses to help busy IT channel professionals accomplish their training needs on their own time and at their own pace,” said Kelly Ricker, senior vice president of events and education at CompTIA. “The courses can be accessed anytime, from anywhere and on any device.”

The CompTIA Executive Certificate programs are delivered by CompTIA Authorized Channel Instructors. Each course is intended to help IT solution providers enhance their current businesses with successful niche practices. Solution providers learn best practices and experience opportunities for interacting with and learning from their peers.

The first e-learning courses include:

  • Executive Certificate in Cloud (Intermediate), which addresses the specific how-to of profitably integrating cloud-based IT services into a solution provider’s business.
  • Executive Certificate in Mobility (Foundations) examines different opportunities in the mobile space and investigates a framework for establishing a mobile strategy.
  • Executive Certificate in IT Security (Foundations) facilitates a solution provider’s transformation into a trusted IT security advisor.

All e-learning courses include scenario-based learning opportunities, case studies and other interactive exercises designed to maintain learner engagement throughout the course. Similar to the instructor-led versions of these courses, each e-learning course ends with a course assessment.

To receive an executive certificate, participants must complete all courses and pass the assessments for each course in a specific executive certificate program.

Capstone sessions are the final piece to completing an e-learning Executive Certificate. Once an individual has taken all the self-paced courses and passed the assessments for an Executive Certificate program online, they can register for a Capstone Session, which may be completed as a live webinar or face-to-face during a CompTIA or CompTIA member event. Facilitated by authorized CompTIA instructors, these one-hour sessions provide an opportunity to discuss the concepts from the self-paced courses with peers, and apply them to real-world situations.
