Conferencing specialist Intercall is further embracing the apps-laden world of smartphones with updated dedicated mobile widgets for Android and iPhone, for managing and connecting to Reservationless-Plus conferencing. The Intercall MobileMeet app is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play, promising “total independence from desktops.”
In other words, the app lets users schedule meetings, send invites and manage their meetings across multiple devices without needing a PC or laptop to initiate the process. It’s available for now only for smartphones, but IPad and other tablet users can make use of features available via Web browser, or, in iPad’s case, through the Mobile Assistant application.
“We researched how meetings occur in today’s world of mobile access and developed MobileMeet to make scheduling or joining a meeting incredibly easy and location–independent,” said Rob Bellmar, senior vice president of conferencing and collaboration at InterCall. “Conference calls started the trend of bringing us together for meetings regardless of location, and now MobileMeet gives professionals more flexibility for staying connected and staying productive.”
For example, users are able to invite international participants with automatically inserted international dial-in numbers on the fly, add participants via SMS, e-mail and a “Call Now” feature, and manage and schedule meetings for multiple accounts. It also provides access to post-meeting functions.
The app is an upgrade from the company’s existing Mobile Assistant application, which is InterCall’s original mobile application for Reservationless-Plus that allows users to start and join meetings easily. That app is still available for Blackberry, iPad, Symbian and Windows Phone devices, but will no longer be updated for iPhone and Android platforms, Intercall said.
Reservationless-Plus is available through agents, resellers and affiliates, or via its master agents, which include ARG, CRG, Coop Conferencing, Intelisys, Microcorp, TBI and X4.
