Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Computer, inventor of the world’s first personal computer, cult icon and self-proclaimed computer geek, will deliver the keynote presentation at ITEXPO Las Vegas 2013, organizers have revealed.
Wozniak has served as a Silicon Valley icon for more than 30 years, helping shape the computing industry with his design of Apple’s first line of products and the popular Macintosh. He co-founded Apple with Steve Jobs based on Wozniak’s Apple I personal computer, and his Apple II was integral in launching the personal computer industry. Additionally, Wozniak has devoted himself to several philanthropic ventures, focusing primarily on computer capabilities in schools, stressing hands-on learning and encouraging creativity. For his day job, he serves as chief scientist for Fusion-IO.
“The communication and technology industry is currently brimming with innovation and it’s an exciting time to be a player in this market,” said Wozniak. “ITEXPO showcases how this innovation is coming together through the convergence of education, technological advancements and networking, and I look forward to being a part of that.”
ITEXPO Las Vegas will be held August 27-29, 2013, at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino Conference Center in Las Vegas, and Wozniak’s keynote address will be held on Thursday, August 29 at 10:00 a.m. ChannelVision Expo (CVx) is collocated with the event: a special summit specifically developed to help channel players and wholesale service providers develop partnerships that cross traditional lines of business and provide all players with opportunities to expand their service portfolios through new suppliers and new relationships with other types of services and equipment distributors.
