Ooma Updates AirDial RDM for POTS Replacement

Ooma, a communications services provider for businesses and consumers, added new remote management features for Ooma AirDial. AirDial is Ooma’s POTS replacement solution, helping large organizations manage thousands of lines across hundreds of locations.

The turnkey POTS replacement solution combines hardware, software and services from a single vendor. It includes the AirDial remote device management (RDM) online portal, to accelerate installation and track AirDial lines in multiple locations without requiring support staff to go on-site.

New RDM features – which are designed for large POTS replacement projects, include:

  • SSO, with partners and customers able to enable authentication through a preferred identity provider (IdP), eliminating the need to maintain separate RDM credentials.
  • Bulk-add devices, letting admins activate and configure multiple devices at once by uploading a CSV file with device details.
  • Expiring access to RDM, whereby administrators can create accounts that are only active for a limited period of time.
  • Number porting status via a porting tab that shows the status of requested porting orders, including request date, proposed port date and confirmed date of port completion.
  • Mobile optimization.

This is in addition to existing features such as tiered parent/child accounts, call alerts, insight views, API integration and roles-based access.

“Our largest customers want a full suite of tools to monitor the health of their connections and to manage performance,” said Thad White, VP, product management, Ooma. “We believe Ooma AirDial’s Remote Device Management is unmatched in delivering these sophisticated features for managing thousands of lines in multi-layered, multi-site deployments.”
