Sprint Nextel has added Mitel’s hosted PBX cloud communications service to its Wholesale Cloud Services portfolio, making it available to Sprint’s SMB-focused resellers. Sprint’s wholesale customers will be able to market services such as hosted voice, unified communications, e-mail, Web collaboration, archiving and Web commerce via the cloud.
In addition, Mitel will now be able to market Sprint’s Wholesale Cloud Services portfolio directly and through channel partners to its SMB customers nationwide. Sprint’s Wholesale Cloud Services portfolio offers a full range of SaaS and CaaS cloud services.
According to IDC, the cloud services market is predicted to reach $52 billion this year. “Organizations worldwide are turning to cloud services that support their business requirements in a timely and cost-efficient manner,” said Matt Carter, president for Sprint Emerging Solutions & Global Wholesale division.
The idea is to provide resellers with cloud solutions that they can quickly take to market without the expense and hassle of having to create their own services, the companies noted.
“This is a win-win for Sprint and Mitel,” said Jon Brinton, president of Mitel NetSolutions. “The cloud market is predicted to explode in 2013, and our partnership with Sprint means that we are fully equipped to benefit from this growth. We can now address multiple aspects of the cloud market through either direct or reseller channels, and deliver a comprehensive and flexible offer across the full spectrum of products, applications and support.”
