Data center and Internet exchange company TELEHOUSE America will incorporate DWDM technology across its network, to expand its capacity on existing routes without having to upgrade the fiber or incur higher costs.
To do that, it has formed a strategic partnership with Cube Optics, a manufacturer of fiber-optic components, modules and systems for use in data and telecommunications.
“TELEHOUSE, with its line protected DWDM architectural approach, sets itself apart in its chosen markets as providing the most reliable, most scalable metro transport carriage in the industry,” said Mark Carpenter, director of North American sales at Cube Optics. “It is our pleasure to work in strategic partnership with the forward-thinking team at TELEHOUSE.”
In addition to Cube Optics DWDM multiplexers, TELEHOUSE will also use line protection devices to provide full redundancy at a lower cost than a dark fiber solution.
“We are using a Cube Optics DWDM solution to connect two of our major NYIIX peering sites: 60 Hudson and 85 Tenth Avenue,” said Andrey Azarkin, senior network engineer at TELEHOUSE. “We also plan to deploy the solution across the entire NYIIX network and migrate to a next-generation platform, improving performance and reliability overall.”
