Major League Baseball legend Gary Matthews, known around the baseball world simply as “Sarge,” will be meeting with Telesystem partners and guests on October 10.
The former outfielder played 16 seasons in the majors, including three with the Phillies (1981-83), and he currently serves as the club’s ambassador. He was the Most Valuable Player of the 1983 National League Championship Series, and won the National League’s Rookie of the Year Award in 1973. He also played for the San Francisco Giants (1972-76), Atlanta Braves (1977-80), Chicago Cubs (1984-87) and finished his playing career with the Seattle Mariners in 1987. For his career, Gary hit .281 with 234 home runs, 978 RBI and 183 stolen bases in 2,033 games.
“Gary will be meeting, taking pictures, and signing autographs for agents as part of our ‘Security Hour’ on the first full day of CP Evolution,” said Telesystem Channel Chief Bruce Wirt. “Our ‘Security Hour’ is sponsored in part by Sophos and will provide agents with an educational overview of Ransomware and DDoS threats, as well as the latest features in our security offering.”
Telesystem provides enterprise clients with in-line, always on DDoS Mitigation as an embedded offering with the Ethernet circuits they deploy to customer locations across the US. This, combined with the deployment of Sophos’ managed firewall and endpoint protection provides Telesystem customers with a comprehensive plan to keep their networks safe.
“I’m extremely excited to bring Sarge to meet and talk with our partners,” said Telesystem Chief Revenue Officer Warren Reyburn. “With this event taking place in Philadelphia, Gary left many Philadelphians with tremendous memories of the 1983 NLCS. Aside from that, he’s got an infectious personality and I just think partners will love spending time with him.“
Telesystem provides service to customers in 46 States and 4 international destinations and currently works with 11 national master agencies.
