Wilcon, a West coast provider of fiber-optic and data center infrastructure for carriers and businesses, has appointed Richard Coyle as senior vice president of network operations. Coyle previously worked at Zayo Fiber Solutions as the senior vice president of operations.
Based at the company’s headquarters in Los Angeles, Coyle will be responsible for overseeing all network operations for the company, including the planning, development, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of all of Wilcon’s dark fiber and optical network services. He brings more than 20 years of telecommunications experience to the role.
“Rich is an accomplished industry veteran with a tremendous track record for delivering superior customer service,” said Jon Deluca, CEO of Wilcon. “I am excited to have Rich join our executive team and have great confidence in his leadership. He brings invaluable experience that will help us further optimize our customer solutions and drive our growth.”
In the fourth quarter of last year, Wilcon acquired Freedom Dark Fiber Networks, a high-capacity dark fiber provider in Southern California. It also recently completed a major new fiber-optic network build to Los Angeles Center Studios, an independent movie studio.
“I have been impressed by Wilcon’s growth and the direction of the company,” Coyle said. “With a robust investment program in place, this role will afford me the opportunity to further expand the reach of the network and deliver enhanced services to customers.”
