Colotraq Overhauls Channel Partner Program

Master agency Colotraq is rejiggering its partner program, including the introduction of what it says are “significantly higher” commission splits based on the total amount of business a partner books.

As its name suggests, Colotraq focuses on colocation, managed hosting and cloud computing. The overhaul is geared to make it easier for agents to sell for the company, execs said. “We have made a commitment to put our agents first in our 2013 plan. We want them to only think Colotraq when they have a data center colocation opportunity,” said Colotraq CEO Dany Bouchedid. “To make that happen we have to offer a world class compensation plan and unparalleled sales support.”

For instance, the company has eliminated commission reductions for Colotraq’s assistance in the sales process. Colotraq previously reduced the commission split for deals requiring direct sales support from Colotraq’s staff. “The company will now offer its experience and expertise throughout all aspects of the sales cycle at its partner’s request with no reduction to the commission split,” the company said.

The rebooted program also features a new tool on Colotraq’s agent portal that enables agents to identify in real time the names and locations of Colotraq partners’ data centers worldwide. This information will be published in list format or a map view using geo mapping technology.

“With a proprietary database of over 2,300 data centers, we believe we are the first in the industry to offer such a comprehensive tool whereby the agent can access data center information at this scale anywhere in the world while he has the client on the phone,” said Colotraq COO Lou Peccoralo. “This powerful tool has the potential to increase the agent’s credibility with his clients instantly.”

Also, Colotraq will now provide its agents a comprehensive list of the names of its 400+ global service providers along with commission percentage payouts. This will allow agents to quickly determine which providers are best suited for their clients’ requirements while maintaining desired margins.

“Moreover, agents will benefit from the fact that Colotraq has already negotiated some of the strongest commission agreements in the industry including evergreen payments, no commission disruption for termination for convenience, timely monthly commission payments and access to its full complement of over 400 vendor partners worldwide,” the company noted, in a statement.
