Arizona-based value-added distributor Insight Enterprises has introduced a choose your own device (CYOD) program, which is a managed alternative to the bring your own device (BYOD) approach to enterprise mobility.
Insight’s CYOD approach gives companies the option to provide company-approved devices along with security and standardization to manage the deployment of multiple device options with the right configurations.
Insight’s CYOD solution includes a custom online client portal that allows the clients’ employees the option of choosing their own company pre-approved device. Insight’s ISO 9001:2008 Certified Integration Lab provides the added value of efficiency and faster response times by including device imaging, asset tagging and direct shipping to the clients’ corporate headquarters or to the employee’s home office. Insight is also able to assist with the refresh and disposal of old units, the company said.
“Mobile technology—from laptops to smartphones and beyond, has fundamentally changed how we conduct business,” said Insight President and CEO Ken Lamneck. “CYOD allows clients to efficiently embrace mobility by reducing the security risk and improving compliance management as compared to its predecessor, BYOD.”
CYOD bridges the gap between employee choice and IT’s need to manage and secure the organization’s devices, data and applications, the company said.
Insight has also created a CYOD workshop that is designed to assist IT professionals in developing a roadmap that aligns their company’s strategic initiatives to relevant solutions. The workshop covers a range of topics, including: policies and compliance, device lifecycle management and application and data security.
