Mitel Retools Channel Program for the Cloud, Carriers

Mitel has revamped its channel partner program in North America with targeted new tracks to support cloud providers and carriers.

“Mitel continues to strengthen our business communications offering with a deeper portfolio and what we believe is the best path to cloud communications,” said Sandra Hill, Mitel’s vice president of channel management and distribution for the Americas. “Recent mergers and acquisitions have expanded our network of partners that sell and support our solutions. Working directly with our top partners in North America, we’ve realigned our program to fully empower them to grow their business with Mitel but most importantly offer consistency of support for customers.”

As part of the new program, Mitel has updated its reward system for all partners to include IT and technical skill credentials, with incentives for partners that accomplish technical and sales certifications, operational efficiency and installation expertise as well as specialized expertise in contact center, cloud and hospitality solutions. Each focus area aims to result in improved customer experience.

The program will first apply to all existing Mitel partners in North America, taking effect in the U.S. and Canada in early July, with a rollout beginning in early 2015 to new partners joining the Mitel network through recent mergers and acquisitions.

A track for  the number of Mitel partners that provide white-label business communications and contact center services via the cloud, and a separate track dedicated to telecommunications carriers, will provide industry-specific support aimed to increase sales and grow their market, the company said.

“Partners are the engine to our success,” said Sandy Janes, director of channel strategy and programs at Mitel. “They represent our brand and we will continue to fine-tune and optimize our program to fully support and provide the resources they need to capitalize on new opportunities and provide the best customer support in the industry. Contact center and cloud communications, for example, are significant areas where we are dedicated to helping our partners to become more competitive.”
