Tangoe Names Channel Chief

Tangoe’s Chief Revenue Officer Mark Denney announced in a blog post on Wednesday that Ed Pierce (pictured), who had joined the company during the Spring to lead the company’s Logo Sales Organization, has been promoted to Channel Chief.

“If you’ve been following Tangoe this year, you’ll note a precipitous change in its approach to partners, Denny wrote. “To be super clear – Tangoe is ALL IN on partners. We are a partner-first company; we have created a compelling program, a solid model, and the resources and support our partners need to close business and add value to their clients.”

He added that Pierce was hired because of his extensive background working with the agent community and his vision for how to expand coverage.

Pierce has more than 20 years of sales and channel organization experience at companies such as Brinks, Windstream, Talk America and First Communications. His career has been in building and supporting channel partners.

With Pierce at the helm of Tangoe’s channel program, Denny wrote “This a great time to partner with Tangoe because of our eagerness and willingness to help you thrive, but the fact is the market needs Tangoe services. As the economy continues to put pressure on IT departments, the best thing to have is a technology management platform. Tangoe’s expense and asset management services across telecom, mobile, and cloud-first and foremost help companies save money and time. It helps with employee retention and job satisfaction. It moves all the routine, mundane tasks off IT’s plate so they can focus on innovating for their business.”

He continued, “And selling the Tangoe solution on top of a UCaaS or SD-WAN sale is like the old McDonald’s saying, ‘You want fries with that?’ Tangoe helps companies maximize their investment in UCaaS monitoring usage and spend against contract rates, identifying unused licenses, and more. With SD-WAN, as companies mix broadband and 5G at the edge, it means multiple carrier agreements, pricing, and invoicing. Tangoe takes all of that off of IT by simplifying, managing, and optimizing telecom, mobile, and cloud services.”

On his promotion, Pearce said in the blog that he looks “forward to helping our partners capitalize on the gains they will reap from selling Tangoe solution.
