VMware Rolls Out AirWatch to Partners

VMware is rolling out AirWatch products to its channel partners worldwide, in a significant step in the integration of the two companies after the virtualization giant acquired AirWatch in January.

“We’re excited to announce a significant milestone in our operational integration plans since the acquisition less than six months ago,” said Dave O’Callaghan, senior vice president of VMware’s Global Partner Organization. “Effective today, the AirWatch Enterprise Mobility Management Platform through Subscription Cloud (SaaS) SKUs will available on the VMware price list to our global network of more than 75,000 partners. AirWatch is the leader in enterprise mobility management, and the platform includes mobile device, email, application, content and browser management solutions.”

He explained that VMware partners who are not enrolled in the AirWatch partner program will need to complete brief training and pass a short exam to gain access to the SKUs.

Generally, the integration will not be a complete one: AirWatch will continue to operate as a subsidiary of VMware and its sales will remain a separate sales and channel organization, and will continue to sell directly and through channels, according to O’Callaghan; AirWatch partners can also become VMware partners. The AirWatch team will continue to provide customer support to their customer base.

“We look forward to introducing our more than 500,000 customers and 75,000 partners to AirWatch,” he added.
