Cbeyond Inc. has announced the addition of more mobile devices to its portfolio of connected devices for business.
The new lineup includes the Samsung Galaxy S 5, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and LG G2 smartphones, and the NETGEAR Zing Mobile Hotspot, which are Tri-Band Advanced LTE devices. They all work on three wireless frequencies: 800, 1900 and 2500 MHz, and can operate at speeds up to 50 to 60 Mbps – roughly 10 times faster than existing 4G speeds given an appropriately compatible network
“Our business customers are asking for higher performing smartphones and connected devices to take advantage of the increasing number of business applications that improve business communications and productivity,” said Scott McPherson, senior product manager for mobile and product marketing, at Cbeyond. “Our device portfolio is growing and evolving to meet this demand.”
The Samsung Galaxy S 5 is designed for business users; the lightweight (5.1 oz.) Android 4.4 device features a 2.5 GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and supports up to 128 GB of memory. With 4G LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options, its 5.1 inch HD display (with 1920×1080 pixels) offers crisp clear views of text, pictures and video. S 5 users also enjoy up to 19 hours of extra-long battery life.
The NETGEAR Zing Mobile Hotspot has a color display and enables secure Wi-Fi connectivity for up to 15 devices, even if the user is not in a fixed Wi-Fi hotspot. The Zing also offers long range connectivity indoors and outdoors, with comprehensive connectivity management and up to 16 hours of continuous battery life.
The LG G2 smartphone has a 2.26 GHz chip for running multiple, power-hungry apps, browsing the web at 4G LTE speeds and checking out video. It’s Li-ION battery also provides up to 17 hours of use. Cbeyond said that it is offering the LG G2 for zero dollars on a two-year contract.
Cbeyond is also offering the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphone, large format Android device that includes a stylus for business applications. It also features a quad core processor, a 4.8 inch HD display, up to 64GB memory and up to nine hours of continuous talk time. The Note 3 also enables seamless file sharing among devices with AllShare.
The new devices take advantage of Cbeyond’s TotalCloud Phone System (TCPS) cloud-based managed voice and communications platform, and Cbeyond’s Communications on the Go solution, which comprises TotalNetwork, TotalCloud Phone System, Cbeyond Communicator (for desktop and mobile) and Cbeyond Mobile. Cbeyond announced national availability of its TotalCloud Phone System and Communications on the Go services in June.
“With our advanced IP voice and cloud services, fully managed network and latest mobile devices our customers can safely rely on one trusted service provider for all of their business communications needs,” said Bill Thomson, senior director of product management of voice and unified communications services at Cbeyond.
