iBASIS has announced a groundbreaking multi-carrier fixed wireless access (FWA) solution that leverages the company’s GSMA standards-based eSIM technology. iBASIS’s FWA offerings are supported by the Simfony Connectivity Management platform in the Global Access for Things IoT portfolio.
According to GlobalData, the total U.S. broadband services revenue market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.2 percent from $102.9 billion in 2023 to $126.3 billion in 2028, with cable and fiber service increasing respectively by 1.5 percent and 9.1 percent CAGR. FWA is set to grow at a 24.8 percent CAGR and more than double its U.S. broadband market share from 7.2 percent in 2023, with over $7.4 billion in revenue, to 15.8 percent, with revenue of just under $20 billion in 2028.
But while FWA gains traction for its speed and easy installation, the company says, traditional offerings have struggled with a one-size-fits-all approach. This approach relies on the deployment of a SIM card from a single tier 1 operator with the assumption that there is a strong signal at every address and that their network will never fail. This approach requires providers to augment the solution to account for coverage gaps or network failures. The workaround typically incurs significant additional costs.
“iBASIS is redefining connectivity solutions by addressing the industry’s ‘one-size-fits-all’ limitations,” said Ajay Joseph, CEO of IoT & CTO, iBASIS. “Our innovative 4G and 5G FWA solutions, which provide access to all three major operator networks in the USA, are powered by programmable eSIM technology, offering unparalleled flexibility and reliability, catering to the unique needs of every enterprise.”
10T Solutions, a leading provider of IoT and M2M solutions and services, is the primary provider utilizing iBASIS’s technology as part of its fully managed offerings.
“Our solutions are designed to improve customer experiences through rapid deployment of cellular services,” said Jatin Garg, CEO of 10T Solutions. “Our partnership with iBASIS enables our services to be delivered more seamlessly and efficiently.”
