Mammoth Networks, a facilities-based aggregator of wholesale data services across the U.S., has begun building-out a Dallas-based point-of-presence (PoP) to supply big-bandwidth and Ethernet-based data services throughout the Southwest.
RealLinx, a Texas-based provider of multi-site managed IT, voice, broadband, security and hosting solutions services, is among Mammoth’s anchor tenants in the Dallas facility.
“We have a longstanding relationship with Mammoth Networks,” said Gabriel Diaz, president and founder at RealLinx. “We had a need, and they had a solution. The Dallas PoP will help RealLinx expand our footprint and continue to deliver superior quality service. We’re looking forward to serving our current and prospective customers alongside our trusted partner, Mammoth Networks.”
Dallas serves as a strategic interconnection and network hand-off point for carriers and aggregators across the nation. Mammoth’s Dallas PoP is collocated in the Equinix facility in the InfoMart building in downtown Dallas. The new POP will tie directly into the company’s Denver-to-Phoenix network ring and will help Mammoth provide near-ubiquitous data service across the West and Southwest.
“Client demand is significant in the Southwest, making the Dallas PoP a no-brainer,” said Brian Worthen, CEO at Mammoth Networks. “While this is a break from our more traditional rural market focus, the Dallas PoP allows us to enter new markets and interconnect with key carriers in the region.”
Operating as both a CLEC and wholesale provider, Mammoth purchases fiber connectivity from more than forty carriers nationwide. It then uses its own equipment and facilities to deploy that fiber in 30+ PoPs around the U.S., to deliver Ethernet-based services via multiple networks that operate as a single platform.
