Telnyx Expands Wholesale VoIP to Europe, Asia

Telnyx, a provider of wholesale VoIP services, has partnered with Equinix to expand Telnyx’s high-performance VoIP platform to Europe and Asia.

By deploying an Interconnection Oriented ArchitectureTM (IOA) with Equinix Performance Hub at the core, Telnyx is able to rapidly expand its network into Europe and Asia while dramatically improving overall network performance by more than 60 percent, it said.

Telnyx is adding Performance Hub nodes in Equinix London and Hong Kong International Business Exchange (IBX) data centers.

Telnyx provides a cloud-based platform – dubbed the Telephony Engine (TE) – that enables managed service providers and enterprises to buy wholesale telecommunications services a la carte via the Mission Control portal and API.

“The Equinix Interconnection Oriented Architecture strategy coupled with Telnyx’s innovative Telephony Engine has improved the performance of our service by more than 60 percent,” said Ian Reither, co-founder and COO, Telnyx. “The benefits to our customers are clear: superior call quality, advanced features, fast setup, self-control and scalable service.”

Bryan Gabriel, CEO at Telnyx customer Mainstream Fiber Networks, added, “Since moving to Telnyx, we have not had issues with connectivity or reliability on our voice services. By leveraging Telnyx’s network and their relationship with Equinix, we have the redundancy and routing diversity we need to ensure that we can provide stable and quality voice calls. Through Telnyx’s multiple points of presence, we have been able to reduce latency and jitter, in turn delivering reliable voice services 24/7.”
