Avnet Adds NetApp to Public Sector GSA Schedule

Avnet Government Solutions has expanded its General Services Administration (GSA) schedule to include NetApp products and solutions.

Avnet channel partners will be able to provide NetApp data storage and management solutions to government organizations that rely on their application, virtualization and cloud environments.

The addition of NetApp to Avnet Government Solutions’ GSA schedule gives partners access to the federal government’s largest Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC), which agencies use to purchase solutions for their IT needs, without making the expensive investments to maintain their own contracts.

“Federal, state, local and education agencies trust NetApp to store, manage, protect, and retain their most precious asset – data,” said Pete Rzonca, president of Avnet Government Solutions. “Avnet Government Solutions looks forward to working closely with NetApp to deliver comprehensive data storage and management solutions to public sector customers. Our partners will be able to help their customers convert the explosion of data into actionable information while protecting and managing mission-critical data, from the core to the edge. This will give our partners a unique competitive advantage in this burgeoning space.”

Rob Stein, vice president, NetApp US Public Sector, added: “Government agencies understand that efficient storage and data management are crucial to delivering better public services. Moving to the cloud, providing data analytics and creating operational efficiencies depend on an agency’s data. By partnering with Avnet, NetApp increases its strong position as a leading provider of storage and data management to the federal government and helps continue its rapid growth throughout its large state, local and education business.”
