Wolfe Adds PoP in Austin

Wolfe, an Ethernet services provider headquartered in Seattle, has announced that it will establish a Point-of-Presence (PoP) within Data Foundry’s Texas 1 data center.

Wolfe will build a hub for its Texas network within Texas 1 consisting of redundant 100Gbps transit links and 40Gbps redundant for Texas metro connections.  This will allow customers to connect to Wolfe’s Ethernet services both in Texas markets and the other cities nationwide where Wolfe.net has a network presence.

Texas 1, Data Foundry’s flagship, 250,000-square foot data center in Austin, is connected to six of world’s largest Internet backbones. Customers can secure redundant cross-connects via diverse points of presence with various carriers.

“Fast and reliable internet services are the backbone of modern data centers,” said Mark Noonan, vice president of sales at Data Foundry. “Wolfe dropping a 100Gbps PoP into our networking hub means more options for our customers and will help them expand their offerings into Texas.”

Wolfe’s solutions include point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, MPLS and IP services with bandwidth speeds from 10Mbps to the recently- launched 100Gbps.

“When we started looking at data center partners in Texas, Data Foundry’s Texas 1 facility became an obvious choice,” said Michael Scott, general manager of Wolfe. “The ultra secure facility with multiple carriers on-net makes it a great fit for us.”
